Urban History

Abstract in english: In the context of today's reality,this paper explores the conditions and mechanisms of the establishment of modern urban context. One of the topics to be discussed is whether and to what extent the particular conditions of the environment (climate, river, topography, green spaces) in which a society is born and developped, affect its characteristics, as well as all kinds of relationships that appear in it. In an attempt to clarify these questions, we firstly analyse the critical issues that contemporary cities are currently facing, as well as a brief outline of how this study is aiming to contribute, in identifying the appropriate planning methods for building noble cities in our time. Therefore, under what conditions can historical spaces be included in the modern city so that they simultaneously address the widest possible part of society and interact with the rest of the urban functions? How does the visitor enter, orient himself and identify with the place? How does this approach translate to the landscape?

Περίληψη: Στα πλαίσια της σημερινής παγκόσμιας πραγματικότητας η παρούσα διάλεξη διερευνά τις συνθήκες και τους μηχανισμούς σύστασης του σύγχρονου αστικού βίου. Ένα από τα θέματα προς διαπραγμάτευση είναι αν και κατά πόσο οι ιδιαίτερες συνθήκες του περιβάλλοντος (κλίμα, ποτάμι, τοπογραφία, πράσινοι χώροι, κλπ) μέσα στο οποίο γεννιέται και αναπτύσσεται μια κοινωνία, επηρεάζουν τα χαρακτηριστικά της, καθώς και όλων των ειδών τις σχέσεις που εμφανίζονται μέσα σ’ αυτήν. Στην προσπάθεια αποσαφήνισης των προηγούμενων ερωτημάτων, αρχικά επιχειρείται μια γενική αναφορά των κρίσιμων ζητημάτων με τα οποία έρχονται αντιμέτωπες οι σύγχρονες πόλεις και σκιαγραφείται συνοπτικά ο τρόπος που η παρούσα μελέτη θα συμβάλλει στον εντοπισμό των κατάλληλων μεθόδων σχεδιασμού. Για το λόγο αυτό, κρίθηκε σκόπιμη η εύρεση των κατάλληλων σχεδιαστικών προτάσεων μέσω παραδειγμάτων εφαρμογής τέτοιων χειρισμών σε πόλεις, στις οποίες το βάθος ιστορίας και η εξάρτηση των νεότερων ιδεολογικών, πολιτικών και πολιτισμικών προσεγγίσεων από την ιστορική αναφορά, εμφανίζονται ως κεντρικά. Ακριβώς, εδώ, εντάσσονται τα προσωπικά ερωτήματα που υποκινούν μια τέτοια διερεύνηση: Κάτω από ποιες συνθήκες μπορούν να ενταχθούν οι ιστορικοί χώροι στη σύγχρονη πόλη ώστε να απευθύνονται παράλληλα στο ευρύτερο κατά το δυνατό τμήμα του κοινωνικού συνόλου και να συνδιαλέγονται με τις υπόλοιπες αστικές λειτουργίες; Πώς μία πόλη με κηρυγμένο από την UNESCO διατηρητέο ιστορικό κέντρο μπορεί να παρουσιάζει τέτοια πυκνότητα κατοίκησης και τέτοια ζωντάνια στο ίδιο το κέντρο;  Πώς ο επισκέπτης εισδύει, προσανατολίζεται και ταυτίζεται με τον τόπο; Πώς μεταφράζεται αυτή προσέγγιση στο φυσικό τοπίο;

La Summer school sull’AI Act, che avrà luogo a Udine dal 3 al 6 settembre presso la nostra sede, nasce come scuola interdisciplinare e interdipartimentale nell’ambito del Progetto interdipartimentale sull’IA (PSA 2022-25). La Scuola è rivolta a dottorandi, dottori di ricerca e studiosi che desiderano approfondire il regolamento europeo sull'intelligenza artificiale attraverso un approccio pluriprospettico.
Il vasto e articolato programma consente di considerare questo documento sotto una molteplicità di aspetti: informatici, etici, politici, economici, e giuridici in senso stretto.
Attraverso interventi approfonditi da parte di esperti riconosciuti a livello internazionale, panel di discussione e un doctoral consortium, i partecipanti potranno acquisire una visione completa su come l'intelligenza artificiale possa essere regolamentata e implementata responsabilmente e quali sfide ciò comporta.
La scuola è rivolta a dottorandi e dottori di ricerca. È previsto un numero massimo di 40 partecipanti selezionati secondo il criterio di ordine di iscrizione. L’iscrizione è gratuita.
